The Val d’Ega Valley A Paradise for Hikers and Climbers - UNESCO World Natural Heritage

With 530 km of hiking trails of varying difficulty, leading through meadows, forests, and up into the Dolomite mountains, the Val d’Ega (Eggental in German) is one of South Tyrol’s most popular hiking destinations.

From our house, you can reach the Nova Levante cable car in just a five-minute walk, taking you directly into the hiking paradise of the Catinaccio-Latemar region. The bus stop is also only five minutes away from Haus Herta.

A dream for climbing enthusiasts – the Catinaccio area (Rosengarten in German, which means “rose garden”) offers climbing routes of all difficulty levels from spring to autumn. The region also features a variety of fixed-rope routes (Via Ferrata), which are mountain trails equipped with fixed ladders, cables, and bridges. There are options suitable for both beginners and experienced climbers, allowing people of all ages to conquer the rock faces.
